Three ways to pay less

The cap is a ceiling, not a target — fixed deals often undercut it.

1. Compare fixed tariffs. When wholesale prices fall, fixes priced below the cap appear first on comparison sites.
2. Check your standing charge. It varies by region and payment method — direct debit is almost always cheapest.
3. Submit meter readings. Estimated billing at a cap change means you pay the new higher rate on old usage.
